Elf German Shepherd Dog Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Denton, Texas

Elf is super sweet and playful, but can be a bit intimidating only because of his size (85 lbs at his check up in Dec. 17). He is neutered and micro-chipped. Vet believes he is a German Shepherd mix born about Sept. 16.

He lives with 2 human siblings (10 and 5), but is the only furbaby.

However, he has spends days with another pupfriend, & plays at the dog park with no incidents. Don't know how he'd react to cats.

He is both house trained and crate trained. Elf is an indoor pup, as he grew up in an apartment, but after we moved to a home spends a lot of time in the yard - especially if we're not home. We bought him a dog house that has turned into yard decor because he won't even look at it. Likes to play "tag" (just running back and forth chasing) especially if he has "stolen" something (most likely the kitchen rag or the kids' socks). Or just lounge on the bench or picnic table in the yard, and he likes to dig.

Elf loves to just lay by my feet when I'm in the kitchen, on the floor at the foot of our bed (on it if we'd let him) or just in the same room with his people. Hes taken ownership of the lounge on our sofa. At night he takes turns sleeping at each of our bedroom doors, especially if we have guests over; he makes sure we are guarded. Because he loves to be around people and attention, he "asks" for it (will jump on you or tug at you). Elf can sit and shake paw on command, he'll lay down with some guidance but hasn't yet gotten the stay part. However, he is super smart so I'm pretty sure with some training he can do amazing things.

The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.

Elf is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
